We're packed and ready to go

It's been awhile since I post to this blog.
We've been incredibly busy purging and packing.
and packing and purging -
and purging-
and purging.

It has been physically, and emotionally draining.

Many tears have been shed but
we have packed the pod and it is on the road.

Even our Moose and sad to be leaving our home
in search of our new abode.

I'll be posting our travels west
during the days and weeks to come.

Beach Cruising on Gabriola Island

Cruising around Descanso Bay Regional Park

Still no whales or sea lions.

I've got my eyes pealed, and I'm ready

But, in the meantime
Check out the beach here at Descanso Bay.
Right out of a BC Tourism ad.

I love love love tidal pools.
This one (they all do) has lots of tiny crabs and fish.
the water in them is very warm.
No sea stars yet.

Heading to Fisherman's Warf

Hoping the weather remains nice today.
Planning on heading to the warf
to see the float home
and the harbour seals.
Very civilized and very calm.
Of course,
 there will also be
tea.

Nanaimo Bars in Nanaimo

These bad boys are pretty rich.
Seriously rich in fact.
I may need to have a nap after eating just one.
Being in Nanaimo, B.C. (birthplace of this treat) I feel it would be rude
not to sample at least one while I am there.
The city of Nanaimo has a link to
the Nanaimo Bar Trail, a map and directory
of the location of all the variations
of this treat in the harbour city.
I printed my copy yesterday so I may plan
my exploration of the Old City Quarter.

BC adventures

I'm heading back to BC for two weeks.
Sadly, my husband is unable to travel with
me so I am travelling alone conducting
recognisance for our big move in a years time.
After researching the region and the communities
we are thinking about Naniamo and Gabriola Island.
After all the reading and research and I so exciting about actually
stepping off of the ferry and seeing all the spots that
I have read so much about.

Check here often, and I am taking my Mac with with so there
will be many updates on my adventure.
