It's daylilly season

My husband calls them
ditch weeds.

My mother refers to them as ditch lillies

They are both wrong

They are WONDERFUL

Baby Tomatoes

I'm planning an Italian inspired dinner in about 4 weeks from now

Have Green Thumb- Will travel

It's early July,
hot, hot, hot,
dry, dry, dry,

Diligence in the garden in key.

My planters get water and fertilizer (a light feeding) daily

Slow release into the beds

Hanging baskets in full sun
sometimes get watered twice daily

It's worth it in the long run

The colour feels good

It will feel even better in February

Saving sunshine for the long cold winter

This planter I picked up last week reduced to clear ($7)
It look so bad.
I've been feeding, watering and clipping
and I am starting to see what the colours will be

The results are worth the effort

Spring Garden Love

Absolutely gorgeous day outside today. Finally!! I was out clearing winter debris and found green and blooms hiding under the leaves. I swear the spring shoots are taller this afternoon than they were this morning.
